State of emergency was announced in Thailand yesterday. I came here at night. I took these shots this morning near my hotel.

Last news: they involved 37 thousand soldiers to disperse the “reds”. During the collisions the Reds took several APCs and dozens of M-16 away from the army. There are weak firefights between the army and the protesters in the city. About hundred people were wounded. The army is gradually taking the control over the city by capturing the main crossroads, bridges, stations and so on. The demonstrators were driven away to minor streets.

Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Great Britain and other countries advised their citizens to avoid travelling to Thailand.
